Describe white light? 


Colorless Light that contains wavelengths of visible spectrum

How do we see color if objects "have no color of their own"? 

The light of the objects give color to objects.

What seven colors result when white light is refracted through a prism? 


Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet

Describe hue? 


A color of shade

What happens with white? 

Reflection of wavelength of visible light

What happens with black?


Absence of complete absorbency color of light

What is a color wheel? 


Visible light that lies in a spectrum

What are primary colors? Name them? 

Colors that cannot be obtain by mixing other colors. Ex.  Red, Yellow, Blue

What are secondary colors? Name them? 

Colors that can  be obtain by mixing other colors. Ex.Orange, Green, Purple

What are tertiary colors? Name them? 


Equal amount of primary and secondary colors Ex. Red-Orange, Maroon, Teal, Etc.

What are neutral colors? How can they be created? 


Color not on color wheel. Mix colors such as black and white.

 How can a neutral color help a design?

Neutral colors may provide a different mood or tone in a design.

What are complementary colors? Name them? 


Sit opposites on the color wheel. Ex. Red-Green, Blue- Yellow, Etc.

What is color value? 


Lightness or darkness in a color

What is a shade? 


Darkness and coolness in a color

What is a tint?

Variety in color

What is saturation/intensity?
